Where are your donations going?

The most important aspect of Sara’s Acts of Kindness is our commitment to pediatric brain cancer research.  In collaboration with the Children’s National Brain Tumor Institute, we are working on funding research that will improve the outcomes for thousands of children all over the country after a brain cancer diagnosis.

Our goal: increase the survivability of these cancers as well as improve the quality of children’s lives after they are in remission. We would like to pledge $180,000 over the course of 3 years towards this project, and that is where you come in! We need to spread the word about Sara’s Acts of Kindness, and keep the momentum going.

"Cancer is the leading cause of death from disease among children and adolescents in the United States. Although substantial progress has been made in the treatment of several types of childhood cancer over the past five decades, progress against other types has been limited. Even when long-term survival is achieved, many survivors of childhood cancer may experience long-term adverse effects from the disease or its treatment. Clearly, more research is needed to develop new, more-effective, and safer treatments for childhood cancer."
